Duties:

Develops and supports an independent research program as well as cooperative research with other principal investigators engaged in several aspects of microbiology. Generate broad strategies for new avenues of research in multiple areas. Develop ideas for implementation of technology, either through the application of existing techniques or the development of novel approaches. Make substantive contributions to the institute's scientific collaborations with other national and international institutions. Foster an environment of productive teamwork.

Qualificaitons:

Ph.D. with assistant professor status or have extensive postdoctoral experience is preferred. Strong track record of publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings. Demonstrated ability to lead groups of scientists, launch creative programs and attract external findings. Excellent interaction, written, and oral communication skills.
