This center is mainly engaged in the study of molecular mechanism concerning the expression and regulation of genes involved in the primary and secondary metabolites of microorganisms, such as Streptomyces, extreme archaea, lactic bacteria, yeast and filamentous fungi. The ultimate goal is to improve the productivity of the producing-strains and to obtain novel metabolites.
